Essay / Cultural differences between The Little Mermaid and The...
As she grew up, she decided to go to Africa to live in the forest and observe the chimpanzees, they accepted her and allowed her to get to know them. When the forests were cut down and the chimpanzees were murdered and sold, Jane had to return to the cities to spread the information she had learned about the chimpanzees in order to save them and their homes. An activity that can be used in the classroom to aid understanding of this text would be an experiment, preferably a rapid response experiment, that a student can observe. Teaching students how to observe and take notes, either mentally or in writing, can help them understand what Jane Goodall was doing during her time in the forests. The observations will be used repeatedly throughout the student's life. They will be able to use this skill during science lessons during other activities.
