The most interesting thing I find about technology and social media, when social media was first used, many parents were opposed to the idea that their Children use social networking sites as socialization tools. Many parents have argued that social sites and social media in general are ruining their children's moral values, with some of them claiming that it is making their children lazy. Some parents ended up accusing technological developments, particularly in the communications sector, of being responsible for society's immoral activities. However, this is not the case today. Currently, many people have adopted social media and other technological innovations that they believe have a positive impact on people's lives. Based on the change in people's attitudes towards technology and social media, I find it very interesting to examine the reasons why society has changed its views on social media and technology. Social media and technology have many benefits for society. One of these benefits is that they provide a platform for people to easily interact and share their opinions and ideas on several issues affecting society. Technological developments in communication gadgets such as smartphones and other portable electrical gadgets such as laptops and iPads have made it easy for people to communicate wherever they are. These gadgets improve communication since they access the Internet which individuals use to access social media such as social networking sites. Through social media, people are able to interact with each other regardless of their geographic location, culture, or race. I decided to change my mother's attitude by teaching her the importance of social media. For example, one day I showed the message that our teacher had sent us explaining how to complete the assignment he had given us the day before. This post changed her mind on social media when she learned that it could also be used for academic purposes. Today, she is a big fan of Twitter and Facebook and even bought me my first smartphone so she can always be in touch with me via Facebook and Twitter. This leads to the thought that how parents have adopted social media and technological developments is the most interesting question to me in the field of technology and social media.
