Have you ever had a sneeze that wouldn't stop? And that cough that won't go away? Or how about that time you just felt bad? Who was this expert who cured everything? Doctors are well-trained geniuses. My lifelong ambition is to become a doctor. I wanted to become a doctor because I always loved taking care of and helping people. I like to make others happy. When I was younger, I loved my doctor, Dr. Curry, because she was genuinely interested and concerned about her patients' treatment. She was very affectionate. She inspired me to become a doctor. Doctors work and treat all kinds of patients. They vary at all ages. They diagnose patients with their condition. They are the head of the entire team. Everyone below them works for them. They make a lot of money. And that's why I want to become a doctor. More than 25,000 years ago, researchers analyzed people using plants as a treatment for illnesses. It dates back to the Stone Age. Tribes used trepanation, puncturing the skull to relieve pain. The ancient Egyptians performed some of the first surgical procedures. The Babylonians used a diagnostic test that gave symptoms and treatments. Hippocrates invented the Hippocratic Oath for doctors, which is still relevant and used today. Around this time, doctors began working in what we call hospitals. They began to know and learn different tools used in surgery. During the 19th century, the expansion of science gave rise to many branches of science, including: evolution, psychiatry, genetics and immunology. Some famous doctors have shaped the medical field as it is today. Charles Richard Drew, a famous doctor, innovated in the field of blood transfusions. Besides Charles R.
