The nation of the United States of America has its ups and downs when it comes to other countries, how they dealt with other countries was called foreign policy. For a little over a hundred years, from the period 1900 to 2014, from President Theodore Roosevelt to President Barrack Obama, foreign policies have never been the same, nor have they evolved. the course of American history. First, what is a foreign policy? If some people don't know, it's not just about other countries, but also about the government taking care of the actions of countries, groups, individuals and companies that are not in the borders of the United States. Foreign policy was primarily, but not really, the effect of collaboration with other countries, without setting real goals with other countries, especially with European countries. The Americans were neutral since the military level posed no real threat in the 19th century. “The Monroe Doctrine, established by President James Monroe in 1823, stated that Americans would remain neutral in wars involving European nations and that the United States expected those nations to stop trying to colonize or invade. occupy regions of North and South America” (Bianco 471). This is one of the first examples of foreign policy affecting the American position, protecting other countries in North and South America from being occupied by any of the European nations. Later, during the 1900s, the United States had to change its policies to help the European nation in times of need. It was called the First World War. The process of cooperating with other countries and creating foreign policy goals is called isolationism. Yet the United States was not completely middle of paper ......th terrorists. Reagan's foreign policy produced results. Meetings with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev resulted in the first treaties in history reducing the two nations' nuclear arsenals. They feared the United States' development of the Strategic Defense Initiative. it was Reagan's pet project, building a "peace shield" that would protect the United States from incoming nuclear missiles.
