  • Essay / Civil and Social Disobedience - 751

Civil disobedience is the answer to big government control or the biggest problem in today's society. This is what we all need to ask ourselves in this situation as we look to the future. These are all questions we must examine for ourselves and find the answer between the courage we have to think outside the box and the police who supposedly protect us even from unjustifiable traitors like Edward Snowden. These are the moments that make the difference in today's society. Overall, we are all Americans and have rights. A long time ago, the draft allowed us to maintain high troop numbers in times of war, with some young men being sent to places they didn't want to go, like Vietnam. This ended massive anti-war protests and the burning of conscription cards. It was the war that was looked down upon in most of the country due to the financial expense. Those who fought were also against it but were treated like dirt when they returned. Like Edward Snowden, they were traitors to their government for disclosing and responding to a noble cause of their own. Edward Snowden believed that what he was doing and still doing was just so that the American people could reveal certain secrets to the world. Americans should not turn against their government. You joined the army because you have no right to say where you are going, because those who work for it have a moral obligation to keep quiet. They did not believe in what they had been put into or the actions that were being taken, so they rebelled against the United States government. We also have rights as American citizens in our country, but some take them too far. This great country of ours is not perfect because the biggest blows we have received, we have never put them back in the middle of paper.... ..there is a great risk for us to have these traitors around. All Americans pass on the obligation to find these individuals, because all men are created equal, this does not apply to being equally punished by our government who knows how to extract information from these non-Americans. Crime is the punishment of those who are created as equals who are punished for the crimes they commit even the most heinous crimes like terrorism against anyone. Americans must unite against those who threaten us, not protect them. Ultimately, on all these issues of social disobedience, we control our government in every aspect. We elect the officials who run it and make the laws they pass and which we are required to follow. So we're here because we put them there so we can take them down and control them. This is civil disobedience and what happened then, what it represents has a whole new meaning...
