Additionally, the author challenges the norm that a woman is always the victim in cases of rape. The character of Rafe, a well-built man, is subjected to this painful ordeal. I am particularly fascinated by the fact that the main male character, Rafe Brown, is not a typical hero; he too faces his tortuous experiences. He is therefore better placed to fully understand what Anna is going through. His love story with Anna is quite realistic, they gradually fall in love over time. As the story develops, so does the bond between them. The novel contains several erotic scenes that can be a bit overwhelming for a reader, so I strictly recommend it for adults. Children and those who may be affected by reading about rape cases should avoid reading this book. In my analysis, the novel tends to lag at the beginning, but picks up quickly as events unfold. After reading the first part of the story, I want to read the second part to satisfy my inner curiosity. What happens to Brian and the Prestons? Is Anna capable of defending Rafe as his past catches up with him? Will Anna and Rafe manage to weather this storm? The story unfolds from chapter to chapter in a well-organized manner, which is why the author supports the reader throughout the novel. The audacity of the author in his writings on the theme of rape is also to be appreciated, because it is barely talked about in society. This novel is a read.
