Essay / Changing Family Essay: Change in the Family - 706
As people get older, they begin to understand more and, based on what they are going through, what their definition of the family changes. Maybe the friends people have known since they were in diapers are now family and loved ones aren't family like we thought. For example, on my mother's side, I have parents who are biologically my cousins, but I wouldn't consider them family because my definition of family is not the same as when I was younger. As a teenager, my definition of family changed. My definition of family still had some traditional meaning, like siblings, cousins, parents, grandparents, etc., but just because we are related doesn't mean we are family. I would consider Azala more of a family member before considering some of my cousin's family members. As people get older the definition is changed by something that has happened or they start to see things in a different way and as they move from being a teenager to an adult this can change a little.
