    We have a system where my employees can clock in for the day on their iPhone, and it sends a message to my iPad that they have started their day. If they are late, it adds a quarter of a point to their attendance policy for the year. Every morning I check the schedules and add points if necessary. Seeing that this employee still had not clocked in, I added the quarter point to his balance sheet. The next day, at our weekly sales meeting, I handed out everyone's time records and the employee asked me why he received the quarter point. I explained that he was late the day before, he then told me he wasn't, that he was on time and that he had saved screenshots of his card pointing on his phone. After reviewing the photos and following up on the issue, I learned from our IT department that there had been a problem with many phones that day, that employees showed up as they should, but that the system just didn't register it. So after gathering all the information and apologizing to my employee for my mistake, I removed the quarter point from his record. Another error in judgment is projection (Bethel University, 2013). Projection is the tendency to attribute certain of our own traits to others in an attempt to justify our own erroneous judgments or actions (Bethel University,
