  • Essay / Industrialization and Global Integration - 890

Industrialization and Global IntegrationThe modern era is full of many wonders that we, as humans, enjoy every day. This new world is the result of many processes and events, including nationalism, revolutions, reforms, imperialism, and nation-state building. However, in my opinion, industrialization and global integration have had the most profound effect on the modern era. Industrialization and global integration have given rise to many social, economic and political changes affecting the modern world. People began to migrate from farms to cities, many new inventions and technologies appeared, and imperialism arose. From the beginning of the 18th century in England, the industrial revolution developed thanks to the rich reserve of coal and iron, used as energy. This coal and iron were conducive to the development of factories which sprung up all over the world. The increase in population and the shift from an agricultural to an industrialized society caused people to leave their agricultural lands and move to industrialized cities in search of work. Many people have immigrated to different countries, especially Western countries, in the hope of finding better jobs to support their families back home. For example, many Chinese immigrated to the United States to work on the railroads that stretched across the country. Human labor was needed to operate the machines in factories. Our main goal today is to have the highest economic status in the hope of becoming the superpower. We import and export many goods from all over the world. Many scientific advances and inventions have improved our daily lives and expanded our field of knowledge. For example, thanks to spacecraft such as rockets, we were able to land on the moon and explore space from a different perspective. Unfortunately, many underdeveloped countries still lack the technologies we use every day, such as the washing machine. Something as simple as a washing machine could help wash clothes faster, giving people time to relax. I believe we will continue to industrialize in the future and make many achievements. However, the environmental effect this may have is another issue that needs to be considered..
