  • Essay / A Career in Film and Video Production - 969

It wouldn't be a surprise if I started this essay by telling you that as a child I spent most of my time drawing and loving it. It's something that most of us start to love when we are little, our appreciation for art begins when we are most curious and ignorant of our surroundings. When I was little, I spent most of my time drawing cartoon characters and abnormal shapes that just seemed funny and original to me. Over time, only a few of us maintain this type of appreciation for art and for some of us, it turns into something else. After 5th grade, I forgot how to draw; however, I am more interested in video editing. During my 7th grade years, I started practicing video editing from video game footage with the help of a few friends online. A video website called Vimeo is used by many video editors from different regions, ready to express their editing style. I was mainly motivated by them, not by any particular editor, but they all had their own way of making their videos, their use of visual effects, soundtrack and sound effects, all of which made me feel be part of the video. himself. This led me to want to improve my video editing skills, constantly searching for free tutorials on YouTube which gradually brought me to where I am today. I'm not saying I'm a great video editor; However, compared to when I started, I would say it's impressive progress without paid lessons. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (www.bls.gov), most editors require a bachelor's degree in a film-related field. Video editors must not only have experience with editing software, but they must also be professionals with digital cameras and photo equipment. While these are obviously requirements to become...... middle of paper ...... uh, improve your skills and creativity. Last but not least, you have to love what you do, you have to love wanting to improve, without ever assuming that there is no room for improvement. Remember that no matter who you are, there is always someone who is better than you in some way, so you have to work really hard to get that climate control office.
