Essay / Essay on Mexican American Women After World War II
It seemed like the author made many leaps from the evidence provided and the conclusion. Throughout this essay, the author focuses primarily on how the authorities perceived the Pachucas, for example how the authorities believed that they were involved in gangs, that they were dangerous and violent, that they were They had committed many crimes. And how the authorities reacted to this, how they sent these young women to juvenile detention centers and blamed the families for the girls' situation. The author does not focus on how the Pachucas affect their community. While the author briefly touches on how families felt about the Pachuca and how parents would react when their daughters began to behave and dress this way, the author does not explain how the Mexican community America has moved on from feelings of shame and dishonor. and disapproval of Pachuca's fashion, attitudes, and actions for simply accepting this part of the new Mexican American women. It seems like the author made too many leaps without actually showing the thought process behind them or providing enough evidence for them in the book.
