In recent years, Photoshop has become a widespread phenomenon around the world. With the rapid development of inventions of cameras and camera-equipped devices; Posting photos on social media has become extremely popular. Along with this, the pressure to look perfect in these images has increased significantly. Society has become extremely focused on the idea of perfection and what perfection looks like. Especially now, with the rise of photo-sharing phone apps such as Instagram, photo editing is becoming even more popular. Photoshop has proven to have many beneficial uses; however, it also has very negative consequences, such as false perceptions and errors. First, in 1987, Thomas and John Knowll created Photoshop (“Adobe Photoshop”). After discovering that his laptop couldn't display grayscale images, Thomas Knowll began looking for a solution (History of Photoshop: Journey from Photoshop 1.0 to Photoshop CS5). John and Thomas' original creation was called "Display" because it was a complete image editing program, but it later developed into what was called "Image-Pro" and finally “Photoshop” (History of Photoshop: journey from Photoshop 1.0 to Photoshop CS5).
