I. IntroductionI always wanted to attend a major university. To me, that meant the smartest people had to be there and have a good reputation. After research and research I realized that my life had changed since I arrived in the United States. As an international student, my opportunities were less, since I was not eligible for financial aid. My choices were fewer, but I realized that didn't stop me from going to college and preparing to be someone in life. I don't need to be at the top university to prove how worthy I am. A two-year community college would prepare me inexpensively and with great opportunities. Glendale Community College, a small college, would be the best place for me as a student. This is a place where I can attract more attention from teachers and continue my career in medicine.II. HistoryGlendale Community College is a community college located in Glendale, Arizona. GCC opened in 1965 with a single college and it was established by the Board of Trustees as the second MCCCD (Maricopa County Community College District) college, and is also responsible for serving educational needs upper part of the valley. In August 1967, the Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools declared and accredited GCC as an individual college. GCC has the power to inspire and help students grow and change their lives. In fifty years, approximately half a million GCC students have earned two degrees, completed job training, or transferred to college. . GCC helps students enroll until graduation, with the help of advisors, tutors and advisors, as they guide students with their own experience. “Glendale Community College is one of ten institutions of higher education in the Maricopa College District” (MCCCD). GCC also has many championships. For example; Cross country 1967, baseball 1968, football 1988, women's softball 1944, women's basketball 1996, football 2000 and soccer 2005 (Glendale Community College track and field record). GCC gives me many options of sports that I can get involved in and make my college life more fun. Additionally, GCC has grown with the communities it serves by expanding facilities and programs on its main campus and offering courses at various locations throughout the (GCC) region.III.
