When he began his political career, he was elected to the House of Representatives in a heavily Democratic state, even though he was a Republican. People voted for him because of his handsome personality and he was even respected by opposing politicians. Previously, McKinley was a soldier in the Civil War. The Civil War alone was a terrible experience, but the sadness of his assassination was terrible. As President McKinley shook hands with his supporters, Leon Czolgosz prepared to do something that would shake America. When McKinley reached out to shake Czolgosz's hand, he fired two bullets, one deflected... middle of paper......omach. At first, doctors thought McKinley would recover from his injury. After a few days, he was able to sit up and take food and liquids for the first time. But a few days later, McKinley began to decline. Doctors found that the president's pancreas had been partially destroyed. On September 14, 1901, William McKinley died. William McKinley had a wonderful life from his birth until his death. His handsome personality made him a popular politician. William McKinley's life will be remembered, and his legacy at the White House will not be forgotten.BibliographyFeinstein, Stephen.
