Georgia's makeup is primarily rural with urban cities such as Atlanta, Columbus, Savannah, Athens, and Augusta. The main industries that make up Georgia's economy are agriculture, finance, business services, government, and tourism. Due to Georgia's moderate temperatures and different soil types, virtually any type of crop or livestock can thrive somewhere in the state. One in seven Georgia residents works in agriculture. The state of Georgia came in at the top of a recent study to determine which state was best for starting a new business. This is due to the small business tax credits and local incentives offered. Government is big business in Georgia. With 180 state representatives, 56 state senators, 14 U.S. representatives, 2 U.S. senators, and 16 electoral votes, Georgia has the most elected officials in state and federal Congress behind Pennsylvania and New Hampshire.
