  • Essay / Analysis of Beauty and the Beast - 1176

A difference is when Leprince Beaumont says “little sister, who spent a large part of her time reading good books” (Leprince de Beaumont 171). The beauty didn't do much but read books. She was a girl from the house who was always there, she didn't do too many things. It's different from Bonita because my character plays football and spends more time with his friends. Beauty doesn't even have any friends in the original story. Additionally, Beauty's character is different in the way her relationship between her father and her. The beauty seems to want to spend more time with her father. An example of this is when Leprince de Beaumont says “that she wished to keep her father company for several years” (Leprince de Beaumont 171). Beauty told all her admirers that she didn't want to get married because she wanted to spend more with her father, she loves him and her father loves her too. It's a difference because in my adaptation, Bonita doesn't even have a relationship with her father. He doesn't care too much about her, especially when he decided to marry her to Leo even though he knows she didn't want it. When Beauty decided to join the Beast, it was because she really wanted to do it to save her father.
