What if sport and psychology were directly linked? The Wall Street Journal has an article by Robert J. titled "Mind Games: Weekend Athletes Seek Help" which is about a new form of psychology called sports psychology and how it could benefit everyone, not just class athletes worldwide. Robert interviews non-professional athletes as well as people who exercise for leisure and asks them why they haven't considered seeing a sports psychologist. Their response was: “Insurers say that counseling to improve sports performance is the psychological equivalent of cosmetic surgery and will not do it. pay for it. (2) » Due to not having the income or status like Lebron James who is an infamous two-time NBA championship winner, or world famous Olympian Michael Phelps who retires with 18 gold medals . These individuals cannot successfully finance such an expensive health benefit or even be recommended for this type of therapeutic services. That being said, sports psychology should be accessible to all athletes instead of just professional competitors because this form of psychology is modified specifically for the athlete. This practice can decrease the statistics of mental health problems, keeping athletes on the same page to perform better. meet the daily demands of life, ease transitions between professional athletics and retirement, and provide up-and-coming athletes with coping mechanisms to help them adjust from the early stages of their careers. Every child's cognitive development is different. Cognitive development is the process of acquiring skills through brain development to gain the ability to think and understand.
