Essay / Education is a vaccine against violence - 755
Education is a vaccine against violenceViolence has accompanied human beings throughout history. Some scriptures such as the Bible and the Koran even state that violence occurred between the two sons of Adam when there were only a few inhabitants on earth. Besides the Holy Scriptures, signs of violence are visible throughout history. However, a more critical look at the pages of history will reveal that advanced civilizations were far less violent than others. The presence of great philosophers and scholars shows that what made these civilizations advanced and therefore less violent was education. Likewise, it is education that has made today's world modern and less violent than ever (BORENSTEIN, 2011). This drop in the rate of violence is actually significant in countries with high education rates; while many countries with the lowest percentage of education engage deeply in violence. All this violence can be classified into three main groups: violence instigated by leaders, domestic violence and violence provoked by financial problems. Education has cured and can cure all these categories of violence because they all come from ignorance and education eradicates ignorance. The most destructive type of violence is that incited by political or religious leaders. Throughout history, we can see that leaders have used religion, race, and other issues to wage wars to enhance their own power. For example, Muslim rulers waged wars against other nations after the death of the prophet. Likewise, Christian leaders led the Crusades; and Hitler fought a war that cost 60 million lives. What allowed these leaders to succeed in their wrongdoing was the ignorance of their followers. which would have pushed him to survive thanks to poverty wages or the criminal world. Likewise, in today's technological world, uneducated people have very few career opportunities with low salaries. This makes their lives difficult and forces them to enter the criminal world to have a better life. Educating people can therefore eradicate much of the violence, as it opens up a wide range of career opportunities for them. In short, ignorance is the root of all evil, including violence. Today, every incident of violence that occurs in the world is due to ignorance and education is a vaccine against violence. We can completely eliminate violence and make this planet the paradise promised by God, simply by educating the whole world..
