Ethical Paper on Cell Phone Tracking and CheatingIn recent years, technology has become the driving force of human productivity and efficiency. Technology has been integrated into our daily lives to help us carry out daily activities and bridge long-distance communications. Although technology has brought us many benefits, it has also created few ethical problems. Some of the biggest ethical problems created by technology involve cell phones. These issues include cell phone tracking and cell phone use to cheat. Cell phone privacy can be compromised in many situations regarding phone call tracking and messaging. Mobile phone use is also starting to be misused by students and other examinees to cheat in exams. Even if the person has good moral standards, sometimes the right decision to make is not always clear. Cell phone privacy has become an issue in recent years, now that cell phone use is widespread in most countries around the world. There are many articles and reports circulating about how the government tracks our every move on our cell phones. This includes the government and other entities recording our conversations. Many people consider this a violation of privacy because their expressed thoughts and feelings are being recorded and listened to by someone somewhere. Another ethical concern this raises is the violation of Fourth Amendment privacy protections. Law enforcement officials have the right to access personal location data without giving probable cause to a judge (ACLU 1). Although this may create an unsettling feeling, I believe that the government has taken these measures to ensure the security of the country.
