What is the meaning of life? Life is a beautiful mystery, an adventure that we all experience. Life is like someone choosing their own adventure: if you don't like what happens, you can go back and choose a different path, but nothing lasts forever and that's when death comes. . Dudley Randall's "To the Mercy Killers" uses irony to capture the speaker's pain and will to live, while Dylan Thomas' "Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night" uses raw emotions to capture pain of a son about his dying father who gave up his will to stay alive. The main theme of “Aux Mercy Killers” is life. No one really wants to look death in the eye, because that would mean that everything they worked for is over. “To the Mercy Killers” has a dark atmosphere, with a pleading tone of voice. Throughout this poem, the speaker begs for a chance to stay alive. The proof is when Randall writes: “If ever mercy moves you, kill me.
