This causes a significant economic cost to the environment, as the area can no longer be useful and also destroys the atmosphere. Some people would not understand the real impact of land clearing on the world. Most people would understand that trees create oxygen, but they would ignore that when trees are cut down, they release CO2 into the atmosphere, which damages the Earth. The problem is that illegal loggers and big industrial companies are selfish and don't care about the destructive effects, so they will continue to clear land as long as it benefits them.
