  • Essay / Tumi Acts Case Study - 1197

In today's modern society, there are many theories that people have proposed to explain the way an individual acts, thinks and does. From a psychologist's perspective, there are many reasons why an individual acts the way they do (Coon & Mitterer, 2012. Pages 14-55). All of these theories have been tested and observed and it is up to each individual to choose whether to believe them or not based on their own research and personal opinions. One can do this through a case study of an individual and see which theories apply to the individual's actions. This is where Tumi's case study (Fundamental Perspectives in Psychology 2014, 2014. Page 6) is relevant. In this essay, we will examine how socioculture, behaviorism, psychoanalysis, and humanism can explain the way Tumi acts and why she feels "like I'm going crazy" (Fundamental Perspectives in Psychology 2014, 2014. Page 6) .Tumi is a 20-year-old student who has trouble sleeping and distinguishing what is real and what is not (Basic Perspectives in Psychology 2014, 2014. Page 6). Recently, she has experienced many personal traumas and these experiences can be used to explain the way she acts and feels now. Tumi has been seeing a counselor because she feels she is not acting normally and does not feel comfortable in her current emotional state. She reported having strange experiences before the appointment. These things include religious commitments, amplified anxiety and she has also begun to believe that her mother and sisters are conspiring against her. Tumi also remembers seeing her deceased grandmother walking around the kitchen of her mother's house (Basic Perspectives in Psychology 2014, 2014. Page 6), and she also had recurring problems... in the middle of paper..... .h subjects to follow for the post-graduation program of its collage. Tumi's personal choices can also be seen as an influence on her experiences and potential to do things and get out of her current situations and misfortunes. However, Tumi can be seen to be thriving and has made her own choices where she can, which has influenced some of her experiences, as mentioned above. All of the theories mentioned helped explain Tumi's experiences and the way she lived. responded to it. Through these observations, we can see the cause of what Tumi is feeling and give her the reasons why she is having all these abnormal visions and experiences. It can be clearly seen that Tumi suffered from many traumas and there are clear explanations through careful examination of socio-culture, behaviorism, psychoanalysis and humanism..
