    On March 8, 2014, Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 lost contact while en route to Beijing, China. With 239 people on board, the plane disappeared between Malaysia and Vietnam. Days later, as rescue teams continued to search for the plane and investigators searched for clues about what happened, authorities ruled out nothing, including the pilot's suicide, engine failure or anything other type of structural failure that caused the plane to break up. Here's a look at some other theories that circulated in the days following the disappearance of Flight 370. Act of Hijacking This might have sounded like the plot of a movie at first: stealing a plane in flight, but the more this theory was discussed, the more people began to believe it was possible. Even the exports indicated that although unlikely, it was not impossible for an experienced pilot to avoid radar. However, a kilometer-long runway would be required as well as a hangar large enough to conceal it.
