Essay / Life and its quest: personal experience - 928
Life. From the moment we enter the world, we are on a quest, whether we know it or not. For many, life itself is a quest, as everyone yearns for something, whether it be "a good job, a big house, lots of money" or happiness. But through many different experiences in my life, a different meaning to the pursuit of life has become apparent to me. Life is not just about striving towards a single goal; the quest in life is to live everyday life and gain experiences, whether good or bad. Thus, no two people will have the same quest because each person is unique and will have a different life. There are an infinite amount of paths and choices one can take, and that is what makes life's quest interesting. In this sense, enlightenment is not about knowing everything about the world, but rather about finding inner peace and happiness with yourself and your life by gaining new experiences. My father is the same one who opened this vision of life to me. As a child, my father had so many hopes and desires. But as my father grew up, communism became more and more present. When my father was a teenager, communism was well established in his hometown. Over time, rage and hatred towards the evil communists and Ho Chi Minh forced him to leave his country, Vietnam. My father's life changed dramatically the moment he set foot on the small boat leaving his country. For five days, he remained on this boat, cramped with twenty other people. On the third day, the engine failed. There was no more food or water on the boat. With the pangs of hunger and thirst coursing through his every vein, my father abandoned every one of his ideals. He wanted nothing more than to live. Fortunately, a Taiwanese fishing boat in the middle of paper...... has an impact on the future, just like anyone in the world, even me, has the potential to make a difference in society . This is part of my quest in life: to experience life and try to make a difference for the better in our society today. Life and experiences are one. They are interchangeable, because life is made up of experiences, whatever their variety. The experiences we collect will shape our habits and, in general, our character. In this sense, enlightenment comes simply from the realization that life is random; disasters, injuries, good news and even death can happen at any time and so one must live life to the fullest in the face of this uncertainty. My quest in life is to experience every aspect of the world that is possible to me, from adrenaline rushes to falling in love, because these experiences are what make life interesting and worthwhile..
