Essay / Cruelty on Animal Farm - 1271
This story Animal Farm by George Orwell is a novel about an animal revolution against an oppressive farmer. The irony of the story comes when the pigs turn into the thing we are rebelling against. They show the same cruelty by treating other animals the same or worse than their previous owners. This cycle of cruelty is exemplified in the Russian Revolution by Joseph Stalin, represented by Napoleon in history. Cruelty in animal farming is manifested in the treatment of animals by humans, in the eventual treatment of animals towards each other, and in the ironic characteristics of both. After the animal revolution, pigs take the initiative and put themselves in charge due to their claim to have superior intelligence. Over time, this power begins to distort the basis of their revolt by recreating the same social situation in which they found themselves before. “When the pigs take over, they claim their goal is to run a farm made up of equal animals, all working together to support each other. but the power soon proves too powerful for a pig. Although the animals originally took over the farm to increase the independence of the animal as a whole, due to the superiority of the pig, they quickly take the place of humans, limiting their independence even further. The idea of totalitarianism presented in Animal Farm is represented by the pigs. treatment of other animals. Pigs started out treating other animals as equals, but as their lust for power increased, they began to differentiate themselves from them.
