Scholarly writing is no different from all other writing, except that in addition to having a purpose and having an audience like any other writing, scholarly writing is evidence-based (Laureate Education, 2012). When writing a scientific paper, a scholar-practitioner must have an objective tone, write clearly, concisely, produce mechanically correct writing that contains evidence-based material. Before beginning to write, a scholar-practitioner must first consider the purpose of the paper. the writing, then the audience to whom the writing is addressed. As a Walden student and scholar-practitioner, we have a specific type of audience, which includes faculty, staff, classmates, and members of the scientific community at large. They are professionals who are highly critical informed readers with high expectations who expect writers to be objective with the words they use and the ideas they present to convey the purpose of their message (Laureate Education, 2013 ). However, the message is conveyed using assumptions, feelings, hearsay, or in most cases, unverified or unverified statements. Although this practice may have no consequences middle of paper ......hority on a specific domain. In this case, more recent statistical data from a government agency like the Department of Education would have been a more reliable source than Business Week in 2001, unless the source of information was generated by sources joint research projects (Laureate Education, 2013). In short, this writing may need a major overhaul in terms of bias, opinion, quality of evidence, and suitability for its intended audience. In conclusion, when writing, a researcher-practitioner must ensure that he or she presents appropriate material to the intended audience without personal opinions, assumptions, and bias. Additionally, it is essential that the writer not only verifies the validity and quality of the evidence used, but that the writing is objective in tone, clear, concise, and produces mechanically correct writing containing evidence-based material..
