RING! RING! RING! RING! Damn, what is this! 5:45 p.m. already? “Tommy, wake up, Gage and Henry just got here and you have practice in 40 minutes,” my mom said. "OK mom" Tommy muttered as he yawned and stretched, as he looked up he saw two of his teammates standing in his doorway, both looking at their watches. Tommy shouted, "I'll be out in five minutes." Get out! » Tommy was always excited for the first day of practice. Over the past three years, he has dribbled his way to greatness. Tommy was now a senior at Belleview Heights High School, his coach had him listed as a 6'0" - 165 pound point guard, but he knew that on a good day he was even 5'11". . But that's what coaches do: they increase the height and even weight of all players in the statistics, hoping to boost the opposing team. Tommy received the nickname "Dimes" because he averaged 14 assists per game as a sophomore and junior with 10.9 points per game. Averaging a double-double was an incredible feat for any point guard in the area. But Tommy didn't care, this was his year to really show how well he could pass and cut. Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Robyn, who was Tommy's mother. But the kids usually just called her Mom. Robyn was handing out plates of bacon and eggs, which even contained hash browns, alongside Gage who was a senior small forward standing at 6'5" – 210 pounds, he averaged 16.4 points per game l last year with 9 rebounds He was looking to score 20 points on average this season, he was more of an offensive player, mainly because he was lazy on defense. But everyone else on the team could make up for it. Alongside Gage was Henry, the 6’2” – 175 pound sophomore shooting guard. This season, he thinks it's his time to shine. Kevin, was the shooter last year and 67% of his shots came from behind...... middle of paper ......h him. After observing his style of play, everyone wondered where he came from. And who he had played for before, because no one around Belleview could play like him. Raw talent, cushioned by speed and a soft pump fake finished with a one-handed windmill dunk. So finally Tommy asked "Hey man, where are you from?" “Miami,” he replied. Tommy looked surprised. “Okay, well, my name is Tommy and I'm the ringleader. Nice to meet you.” “Thank you, too.” Darius said with a small smile. "Team chemistry grew quickly, even with the new addition of Darius. After a month of training, it was now time for the first game of the season. The players were motivated and ready to pass it on to the team. For whatever reason the coach decided not to start Darius, it looked like the Belleview Badgers might find a cold spell. At halftime, Tommy recorded 7 assists and 9 points.
