The NFL has already changed the way players are allowed to make contact with a defenseless player, but it doesn't solve the problem as well as it does should (“NFL” np). There should be changes that affect how long an athlete should sit after sustaining a head injury to prevent further brain trauma. Additionally, there should be trained personnel at every game to reduce the number of undiagnosed concussions, which will increase player safety. These changes would make great strides in protecting players while also appealing to Americans by not further changing the contact rule, making this situation easier.
