Some events are very flamboyant and joyful like the Asian culture festivals and the Thai New Year water festival. During the Thai New Year water festival, water is used to purify bad luck and eight precepts of meditation are held. At the Asian Culture Festival, arts and crafts are held, traditional dancers perform, and even Asian food is offered. The most important religious ceremony has to be “Visakha Bucha Day”. The Visakha Bucha day represents the day Buddha was born, the day he became enlightened and even the day he died of food poisoning. Throughout the day's ceremony, practitioners chant the 8 precepts and listen to the monks teach the Dharma. They also organize events celebrating important Thai historical figures or events such as the temple's anniversary. The large number of events held further highlights the influence they have on their community and demonstrates their commitment to providing meaningful service.
