Her father used to abuse her mother, which led her to commit suicide right in front of Kidd. After that, Kidd was sent to a therapy center called Horizons because he suffered from depression and post-traumatic stress. he's really stressed because he can't do anything there and they keep telling him he lied and he gets fed up one day he finds a man named Red and he offers Kidd a job on Cardiff beach. He leaves the center and literally runs away to the beach where his new job is, he camps there and goes to Mr. Red's house to start working. A few days later he sees this girl named Olivia and he falls in love with her and he thinks she likes him back. She becomes everything to him; he will do anything for her. However, Devon is back and he is ready to take Olivia from Kidd. Kidd was warned to stay away from him; He didn't want to be with him anyway because Devon had hurt Kidd way too many times. They always get in trouble because of Devon and Kidd hates it because he likes being a good kid. Devon will do anything to make Kidd follow him, Devon loves doing things that will hurt them or even almost kill them. One day, Kidd finds Devon talking to Olivia in a cliff by the beach and Kidd gets really angry so he tries to get Olivia's attention but it doesn't work. Instead of getting Olivia's attention, he gets Devon's. Devon smiles at Kidd and he gets even angrier so he goes to them and he wants to push...... middle of paper ......d.PERSONAL RELEVANCEMy take on this book is that I love how the author set everything up and how the plot unfolds. The theme surprises me and I love it. I love everything about this book. I can also relate to this because there is this person who keeps coming back even though I don't want them to come back. He kept hurting me and I just wanted him to leave my life forever and never come back. I was always afraid he would come back. I tried so hard to fight him to leave but he always came back. I would walk away from the people he was around and just leave the place he would always be, but he would find a way back into my life no matter what I did to make him leave. I learned that it will take time but we always have to fight that person until they get tired of us and eventually leave, we just have to be strong and keep fighting..
