Frank Gehry is a world-renowned architect known for several important buildings such as the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. He was born in Toronto, Canada on February 28, 1929, but moved with his family to Los Angeles, California in 1947(1). Gehry attended the University of Southern California and graduated in 1954 with a degree in architecture (1). In 1962, he created his own architectural firm now called Gehry Partners, LLP (1). At first, Gehry used the International architectural style (1), but it did not suit him because this type of building had an austere and unadorned appearance. Over time, he was able to create his own style which contrasted greatly with the international style. . For art critics, Gehry's architectural style was classified as part of the deconstructive movement, although he claimed no connection to any architectural movement (2). Deconstructive buildings are structures in which form does not necessarily follow function, so there are many unconventional components in the building that serve no purpose (2). Frank Gehry was a great architect of his time and continued to design many other buildings. Frank Gehry's first major piece of architecture that attracted worldwide attention was the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. The museum sits on a bay in Bilbao, Spain (3) and was part of an improvement plan to allow the city to attract international attention and attract more tourists. Bilbao held an architectural competition in 1991, in which Gehry won and built one of the most important buildings of the 20th century (4). The building is known for its titanium curves, limestone walls and imposing 50 meter glass atrium (5).
