Most people don't dedicate their lives to helping others, especially if they themselves are disabled, but Helen Keller is a different story. At the age of 19 months, Helen Keller was diagnosed with an illness that left her deaf and blind. A true hero is someone who is dedicated to helping others in need, regardless of the circumstances or difficulties they face, who never gives up, and who is an inspiration to others. Helen Keller is a hero because she overcame the battle of deafness and blindness by never giving up, dedicated her life to helping others, and brought change to the world despite her disabilities. Additionally, she managed to learn to read/write in Braille, learn sign language, but at the same time she managed to learn standard communication systems. Helen had learned to write on a typewriter, to speak and even to read in foreign languages.
