    The resurrection is also a major theme in the book of Acts (2:24; 3:15), as well as in many of Paul's epistles and in the teaching itself of Christ. The resurrection is closely linked to the cross in our Lord's teaching (Mt. 16:21; 20:18-19; Mark 8:31; 9:31). The resurrection was predicted in the Old Testament and has ample evidence. The resurrection is a historical fact. The Scriptures are the most authoritative, accurate, and trustworthy historical document known to man. The resurrection of Jesus is proof that he has made complete atonement for our sins, that his sacrifice was accepted as a satisfaction of divine justice and his blood as a ransom for sinners. This proved that he was the son of God, to the extent that it authenticated all his claims (John 2:19, 10:17). There is an order to the resurrection. There are two kinds of resurrections. One is in life, the other is in judgment. Jesus declared that He was the giver of life and the judge.
