    An auto mechanic job involves working on automobiles, AKA, vehicles/cars. This is a very important job because: If we didn't have auto mechanics, many people's cars would not work properly. Auto mechanics can be boys or girls and they can work on almost any type of vehicle if they have the appropriate qualifications. Some auto mechanics; Like my grandfather, I can work on many types of automobiles, such as four-wheelers, cars, SUVs, trucks, and sometimes large vehicles. Repairing large drilling rigs is not the job of an auto mechanic, it is often the job of a diesel mechanic, but some auto mechanics can and do work on large drilling rigs. Auto mechanics of all kinds are very important in our society today. Auto body shops and repairers must repair and recondition automobiles and their chassis. One thing they do is review damage reports, prepare cost estimates, and schedule the work. Another thing they do is inspect cars for structural damage (“Auto Body”). Sometimes they have to test cars for errors and defects in their structure and make sure they drive properly (“Car Service”). They also realign frames and sash to repair structural damage. Finally, they hammer out or repair dents, dimples and other minor damage to the body (“Auto Bodywork”). Auto mechanics often work indoors in body shops which are usually very dusty and noisy. Stores should be and generally are well ventilated to disperse dust and paint fumes. They are sometimes placed in uncomfortable and cramped positions and are sometimes even sent long distances to work at a customer's location so as not to have to take the car to the mechanic. One of the downsides of being an auto mechanic is that it has a higher risk of injury than most other jobs, making it a somewhat dangerous environment. One benefit would be that you can work on your own or your family's car without having to pay someone to do it for you.
