Essay / A Look at Disney at The Disney Company - 631
My family and I have been going to Disney every year since 1995, and the little tidbits we all know come from reading everything we can find about the experience Disney. Over the Past Three In the four decades since Walt Disney World opened its theme park in 1971, the park has undergone an incredible transformation. When the park first opened, only three rides were available and now, after the addition of new rides, attractions and other developments, there are over forty-seven square miles of space. Not only are there the theme parks themselves, but Disney has also branched out into resorts, hotels, golf courses, campgrounds, water parks, restaurants, entertainment events and themed shows. The Disney Company now has more than 60,000 employees who ensure the smooth running of Walt Disney World. Disney offers a wide variety of employee training at the Disney Institute, established in 1986, and the benefits earned by employees complement the organizational culture. of the company. The training offers organizational behavior concepts such as: decision making, motivation, group behavior, communication, organizational culture, organizational structure and human resource practices. The Disney Company strives to ensure the happiness and satisfaction of its employees. It's the Disney way. One way Disney determines whether employees are satisfied is by using a 120-question survey about overall management performance. Communication is the key to business success...... middle of paper......cleaning workers in white overalls rush to pick up trash; including the droppings left behind by the horses that pull the shiny streetcars along Main Street. Every night the entire main street is watered and cleaned. The people and those of the Magic Kingdom are also impeccable. As a marching band drums in the distance, characters like Goofy and Snow White stop mingling with tourists and begin leading them down the sides of Main Street in a parade. This parade is different from any other you've seen, yet it includes the seasons of the year. Dressed in crisp uniforms, the fit and attractive band members hold their instruments at the perfect angle. The shapely twirlers always grab their batons. Everyone struts in unison, only to reappear like clockwork after an hour. During the nighttime parades, the spectacular fireworks are so beautiful. Walt Disney World is the place that had a profound impact on me..
