In an ever-changing world filled with new technologies every day, we need to bring in the new and move out of the old. One of those old things that we should get rid of are textbooks and replace them with tablets. At first glance, this argument seems stupid, because we have been using textbooks for as long as we can remember, but a lot has changed in a short time. In the 21st century, we have gone from giant computers that can execute very few commands to mobile devices that can access the Internet at any time with the press of a button, and all of this can fit in your pocket. Textbooks are large, bulky books that are burdensome for students. The tablet is a great innovation that the school system should use because it is a smarter choice than textbooks. Tablets are more beneficial to our education system because they weigh less than textbooks, they cost less to manufacture than printing them, and tablets can be instantly updated to new editions. First, many schools teach from books typically four to five books long. years passed. The content of these books is old and some of it might have changed due to new discoveries and better techniques of teaching students. Subjects that are constantly changing with our world, such as biology and computer science, depend on the right material to be taught in school, otherwise students will be misinformed, but teachers cannot teach their students the right material with the bad manual. It is essential for the education of students that they learn the latest material and this is possible with the new innovation of tablets. Not only will this help children learn the right material, but it will also save money at school because they won't have to keep buying new software and......paper ......p the manuals printed in them. Textbooks cost schools across the country too much money every year when they could be spending that precious money on something else like land and renovations, but instead they were spending it on textbooks that will become obsolete in a few years, then they will just have to spend it. buy them again. Tablet prices also continue to drop every year, which could be extremely beneficial for schools if they take advantage of this, as tablets won't always drop to these low prices. Schools spend more money on textbooks than anything else in the long run, about $8 billion a year for the nation's schools. This is a ridiculously large amount of money that we could save. Ultimately, there are hundreds more reasons to replace old printed textbooks with new tablet technology. (Alvarez)
