  • Essay / Analysis of Adam and Eve - 786

While in the Garden, the serpent said to Eve: “…but God knows that as soon as you eat of it, your eyes will be opened and you will be like divine beings who know the good and the bad” (Genesis 3:13, line 5). The serpent throws an enticing temptation at Eve, saying that they can have what God has and that they can be like God. This temptation caused Eve to eat the fruit and also give it to Adam. The snake was not lying when explaining this to the woman, but was putting this thought into her head. Being like God and having knowledge of good and evil could be an attractive thing, so Eve ate the fruit in disobedience.
