There are many inequalities in this global world; should there be such glaring inequalities in the health of populations around the world? We hear words like health gap, health care inequality, and sustainability. What can be done to eliminate health gaps, health care inequities and maintain sustainability? The World Health Organization (WHO) and other organizations, private and public, are working to eliminate these disparities. Healthy People 2020 is one such goal that has made significant progress toward sustainability in pursuit of global health goals (Gostin et al., 2013). The health gap can be minimized through health strategies. Among them are essential elements for everyone in this global world; clean air, water, healthy food and adequate housing with hygienic living conditions. Primary, secondary and tertiary prevention and care services should be accessible to all who seek health care services. The purpose of this article is to examine a health topic from Healthy People 2020. This article will discuss HIV; human immunodeficiency virus. This article will assess, interpret, justify, evaluate and evaluate HIV disease, its history, health statistics, preventive measures, the role of the nurse and finally an evaluation of health programs and availability of supportive care . History of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) was first revealed in 1981. There has been a long and arduous global effort to prevent HIV/AIDS. HIV is a virus that spreads through bodily fluids that affect specific T cells in the immune system. Without treatment, HIV infection leads to AIDS and there is no cure for AIDS.
