Managers achieve their organizational goals and objectives through proper planning. There are three main levels of planning: operational, tactical and strategic planning. Strategic Plans: -Strategic plans are developed by higher level management, such as the CEO and upper level management, for lower level planning. Strategic planning can extend over two, three, five or even ten years. Strategic plans are developed for profitability, improving productivity, achieving growth, improving customer services, etc. Tactical Planning:- Next is tactical planning after strategic planning. Tactical planning is very flexible planning. Typically, tactical planning is designed by mid-level management. Tactical plans translate strategic plans into a specific area. These plans are always concerned with accountability because it is the duty of the tactical plans to fulfill the parts of the strategic plans. Operational planning: -Operational planning is the final planning. Operational planning is created by supervisors and lower-level managers. Managers must plan the daily tasks of the organization. These types of planning are included in operational planning, like making the roaster for employees, creating a monthly budget, stock orders, advertising and everything else.
