Some of us in the world may struggle with reading, spelling, and other academic issues. You may not know why they can't read or spell as well as you because they have a disorder. This disorder is called dyslexia. People with dyslexia have difficulty with: listening, reading, writing, spelling and even handwriting. However, being dyslexic does not mean they are not intelligent. Some of the world's greatest minds suffer or have suffered from dyslexia. Dyslexia in adults is more serious because they suffered from it as children, meaning they could read a third grade book. (Me, Hotz)Children suffer from dyslexia. They stumble or have trouble with words. When they read, they may skip words they don't know or can't pronounce. Children with dyslexia have different reading habits than other children. (Hotz) The reading models there are slower than others and they don't read as fluently as the children who do read. Children also have spelling problems because they don't know which letters to put with the sounds of words.
