President Barack Hussein Obama Jr is currently the President of the United States of America and was born on August 4, 1961 to his mother (Ann Dunham) and father (Barack Obama Sr.). President Obama was raised by his grandparents when he was 10 years old in Honolulu, Hawaii. Obama's mother and father were married on February 2, 1961 and had Obama 6 months later. President Obama did not have a father figure in his life because his mother had moved to a different place and Obama Sr. stayed in Hawaii and then moved a year later to go there. Massachusetts, when Obama was a baby, to follow his dreams and get his Ph.D. at Harvard University. Obama Sr and Ann Dunham had divorced when Obama Jr was 2 years old in March 1964. 1995 Obama Sr returned to Kenya. 1995 Dunham married an Indonesian East West Center student named Lolo Soetoro. A year later, Obama's family moved to Jakarta, Indonesia, where his half-sister Maya Soetoro was born. His mother was afraid for Obama's safety and for his education, so when he turned 10, his mother sent him back to Hawaii to live with his grandparents. While living with his grandparents, Obama was enrolled in the Estemed Poncho Academy where he played baseball. and graduated from college with honors in 1979. Obama was one of three black people at his school, so he was aware of the racism that being African-American meant.
