Embody Independence and ConfidencePart IIAAs an individual and ambitious accounting student considering pursuing a career in public accounting, I recognize the importance of understanding my core personal values and behaviors that guide the ethical principles of my daily actions . I recognize that I have a responsibility to myself, to my family, to my future colleagues, to my future clients and to the general public to follow certain guidelines and to conduct myself in an ethical manner. Additionally, I acknowledge the idea that ethical dilemmas will arise, but I commit to upholding my "Personal Code of Ethical Values" (as seen above) which represents my desire to live ethically in all facets of my life. I strive to embody integrity in everything I strive to do. This means that my every action must encompass and demonstrate the values I hold, regardless of the context of the situation. Further adhere to the high moral principles and professional standards set forth by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Second, I believe it is important to be honest and respectful. I desire to express truth in every written and spoken word. Presenting information in a fair and impartial manner when performing accounting functions is necessary in a profession that serves the public interest. I believe that being respectful means showing consideration and thoughtfulness in my dealings with my fellow human beings with whom I come into contact.
