The 7-S framework is based on 7 categories: • Strategy – How the business competes • Structure – the design of the organization • Systems – How their systems such as rewards and recognition align. • Style – How management responds to its environment when there is a call to action• People – How the company develops and trains its people• Skills – What differentiates the company from its competitors• Higher objectives – The company's vision As Comcast is indeed a major competitor in its market, the need to be even bigger led Comcast to purchase NBC. Comcast had an opportunity to reclassify itself to compete in a different arena. Comcast wanted to combine media and technology (http://corporate.comcast.com/news-information/news-feed/reimagine, 3/29 / 14)• Structure - Comcast and NBC are decentralized organizations, allowing lower management to make decisions that are in the middle of paper...... regarding the SWOT analysis, it appears that Comcast s are doing better with their change compared to that of Kmart.
