Wordsworth visualized scenes while he was away, a way for him to feel a spiritual connection until he could return. Wordsworth states, “As a landscape to the blind's eye: but opt for, in lonely rooms and amidst the din of towns and villages, I owe them” (Wordsworth 25-27). Wordsworth gives a feeling of conformity and loneliness while being in cities. That he had his memories of his youth to keep him hopeful of returning to nature and all the memories he had captured. While today's society only focuses on what it can get from cities, Wordsworth understood the true meaning of memories. Today, memories are mostly captured through social media and, in turn, taken for granted. Wordsworth felt nostalgic happiness as he relived his memories and knew that in the future he could think back to that day and feel the same feeling again.
