As a Human Resources representative, I am writing this for the Vice President of Human Resources regarding a dispute between two of our employees and the department head. It was reported to me that there was a lot of disagreement between these particular employees and their department head, to the extent that the employees were no longer accepting orders from the department head. The orders include extending their working hours for overtime, as has always been the case, as well as taking on duty during their night shifts. The issue was brought to the supervisor who, after his own assessment of the issue, is now in favor of the idea that both employees should be fired and their employment contracts terminated. The supervisor claims that it is unethical for an employee to refuse to work and even more so to refuse to take orders from his superiors. According to the supervisor, this situation will not only reflect negatively on our employees and set a bad precedent for other employees, but it will also affect the company's profitability and overall performance. For their part, the two employees claimed not to be comfortable with the conditions given by their senior. According to the employees, the head of the operations department recently behaved in an awkward manner towards the two female employees and sometimes attempted to sexually harass them during overtime and during their night shifts, but on different occasions. For this reason, both women were heard saying that it was better to prevent them from working rather than accept such conditions and harassment. Upon further investigation, I discovered that one of the employees in question was actually considering leaving her job, citing unfavorable working conditions. terms. On the other hand...... middle of document ...... they take appropriate disciplinary action. Works Cited Heathfield, SM (2014). How to Handle an Employee Sexual Harassment Complaint.
