Essay / The Dark Side of Leaders - 1449
Leaders are often described as heroes and champions, but there is also a darker side to being a leader. Adolph Hitler was one of the strongest leaders of the last 100 years, if not the strongest leader of all time. He was a man capable of leading a country of 20 million people against the entire world, in whatever vision he saw fit. He brought Germany out of economic depression after going through the First World War. Indeed, this is what all leaders strive to be. Hitler is one of the best role models to inspire leaders. He demonstrated some of the greatest qualities of a leader, including: vision, eloquence, charisma, strong will and tyranny. Vision is the way someone imagines something. All leaders must have a vision. Hitler had one of the greatest, albeit immoral, visions of all time. His vision of wanting to purge the world of all Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals and anyone who did not fit his definition of the perfect race. His quest for the perfect race - the Arian race - consisting of blond-haired, blue-eyed Caucasians, combined with his vision of leading Germany to world domination gave him purpose and the power to inspire others. Although he was unable to realize his vision, he fought for it until the end of his life. One of Hitler's most notable leadership qualities was his eloquence. To be eloquent is to express oneself fluently and convincingly. Hitler would stir the German people with his fervent speeches. He knew how to appeal to people's basic instincts and exploit their fears and insecurities, making manipulation one of Hitler's greatest assets. Since he was able to get his audience to be so passionate and zealous for his goals, they would follow him thinking... middle of paper... what would be good for Germany. Under his rule, he created jobs and stabilized the economy, which helped Germany emerge from the economic depression gripping the rest of the world. However, I understand that the majority of people on this planet would say that Hitler was a horrible human being. Many people don't want to acknowledge that he was a great leader because he did horrible things and might disagree that he was a great leader because he led Germany to further loss, but it was inevitable because a man and a country cannot stand against the world and expect to win. Nevertheless, Hitler embodied the qualities necessary for a strong leader, such as having a vision, being eloquent, charismatic, tyrannical and strong-willed. Hitler was one of the greatest leaders of all time and should be a role model for future leaders who want to improve the world..
