Essay / The Arctic wolf: the habitat of the Arctic wolf
The habitat of the Arctic wolf is a very hostile place. The temperature should be below zero degrees. There are tundra, hills, glacial valleys, ice fields, shallow lakes and green plains (Arctic/Antarctic: the arctic wolf). These snow-white creators don't have many places to live. Arctic wolves were once all over North America, but unfortunately are now reduced to Canada, Alaska, Idaho, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Wisconsin, and Wyoming (Arctic/Antarctic: The Arctic Wolf). Arctic wolves are one of the most dangerous types of wolves; people must find a way to save them and their habitat before they disappear forever. Few people know about the Arctic wolf, it is the snow-white version of the wolf. They have a very high appetite when it comes to eating. Most of them only eat one meal per day and eat up to 20 pounds in that single meal. They are mostly carnivores; they mainly eat large animals like caribou and muskox in order to feed themselves and the entire pack (Arctic/Antarctic: The Arctic Wolf). People eat up to three meals a day, but wolves can go several days without eating anything (Arctic/Antarctic: The Arctic Wolf). When wolves hunt, they must be able to have a plan for catching their food. Wolves cause all members of the hunting pack to surround the animal and pounce on them. A blow to the neck and the animal would be dead. When they eat, they eat everything, such as meat, shins, fur, and bones (Arctic/Antarctic: The Arctic Wolf). Additionally, Arctic wolves can live up to 20 years in captivity, while they can only live 7 to 15 years in the wild (Arctic/Antarctic: the Arctic wolf). Arctic wolves are one of the prettiest and most unique types of wolves. When arctic wolves are puppies...... middle of paper ...... there white fur for fur which is very expensive. Some people like to sell their teeth for money or make jewelry. Mostly just for fun. Also to sell the whole wolf for money or cut off pieces of the wolf like the head, ears, paws and tail as a reward for killing one. So because of everything people do to kill these wolves, they make them all extinct. There is less advertising. There are no more in the 50 states like before, they are reduced to 7 states and in Canada, that's how serious this case is today. Many people think that humans are the only ones killing Arctic wolves, but that is not the case. Arctic wolves are the most dangerous threat is humans, but they are also being killed by global warming as their habitat is melted into water and because there are fewer of them, polar bears now have a greater advantage in hunting them down..
