In life, there are an endless number of career opportunities to pursue in many different, vast and ever-changing fields. It is important for a person to look into the future and think about jobs that might interest them. Studying potential careers allows a person to set a course for the future based on the qualifications they might need to succeed in a given career. Every job has its pros and cons, but ultimately, if someone doesn't love what they do, they may have chosen the wrong career path. This is why it's important to research potential careers to see if you could see yourself enjoying something like this. Some jobs such as orthopedic surgeon, neurologist and plastic surgeon are very popular, demanding and trending careers in the world today. Deciding to become an orthopedic surgeon is a demanding and time-consuming process due to the rigorous education and training one must participate in. It's not a job that everyone can accept, you have to be really passionate to succeed. Training to become an orthopedic surgeon begins with at least 3 years of bachelor's degree; including several required science courses is the minimum education a person can have to be accepted into medical school (“Job Description”. Orthopedic Surgeon). Then the person would take the Medical School Admission Test (MCAT) before applying to medical school, which takes four years. Upon graduation, the aspiring doctor of medicine (MD) will be required to complete five years of residency. Residencies are periods of practical field training, which take place in hospitals (“Job description”. Orthopedic surgeon). Once a person is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, the real work begins. No matter what career an individual decides to pursue, it will take hard work, dedication, and determination to succeed.
