There has always been a special relationship between man and the creatures that inhabit the world. Even though giant pandas are not part of the same species as humans, they are part of the same world as us and we must take care of them. Pandas are threatened and could disappear within a few years. The threat posed by pandas can be associated with humans and the effects they can have on an animal's habitat. Many people are trying to save the giant panda population, including conservation organizations. Some of these organizations include the World Wide Fund for Nature. This organization and others are trying to find a way to help save these magnificent pandas. Compared to other species, pandas are considered the babies of the bunch. In 1869, the giant panda was first discovered in a Chinese province called Sichuan. Sichuan is located in the southwest part of China. Even though the giant panda comes from China, it was the French who discovered pandas. Armand Perez Davi is the Frenchman credited with discovering this beautiful creature. He thought the panda was just a black and white bear because of their resemblance, but tests proved they had fewer similarities than expected. Once the panda was discovered, years later, poachers would cause the panda population to decline. Due to the decline in the panda population, reserves began to help protect the pandas. In the early 1960s, the first four pandas were created. These reserves aimed to increase the panda population and reduce poaching. Also at this time, panda hunting was now illegal. The situation of the giant panda can be further improved and allow pandas to escape danger. More can be done by holding annual fundraisers. Once a year, the whole world should come together to celebrate “Panda Day”. During Panda Day, people could donate money, learn about giant pandas and organize a webathon to raise even more money. This could be a major way to raise money for the pandas and encourage people to volunteer and book themselves. Giant pandas can get out of danger if the situation of the giant panda improves. No animal should ever become endangered and possibly disappear if that happens and the future of giant pandas is in our hands and as humans it is our responsibility to try. to save them.
