Essay / Problem with human cloning - 1145
Cloning, by definition taken from the Oxford Dictionary, is a plant or animal produced naturally or artificially from the cells of another plant or animal and therefore identical to him. The first cloned adult mammal was a sheep named Dolly. The goal of human cloning research has never been to clone people or make babies. The initial goal of human cloning research is to obtain stem cells to cure disease. It is inevitable that one day this knowledge about human cloning will be misused. Over time, the scientist began to think deeply and this is how the concept of a cloned human being appeared. There are several reasons why human cloning is illegal by law. Human cloning research has faced many problems since it was first announced in public, as it is an unethical process, increases infant mortality and produces a mutant product.Substantial paragraphThe first ideas of human cloning introduced into public consciousness in Future Shock, the book written by Alvin Toffler in 1970. He reportedly wrote: "One of the most fantastic possibilities is that man is capable of make biological carbon copies of himself…Cloning would allow people to see themselves in a new light, to fill the world with twins of themselves” (Amy Logston, 1999). On February 24, 1997, the use of somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) in 1996 to produce the first cloned adult mammal, Dolly the Sheep, by the scientist was publicly announced (Judith A. Johnson, 2006) had improved this that Alvin wrote in his book. Today, scientists continue to learn and research the appropriate ways and methods in the process of human cloning in order to open the public's minds to its acceptance. Dolly was a popular symbol of both the great possibilities of science...... middle of paper ...... I do not approve of human cloning processes. What will happen if the laws start to approve it? People will have their own identical clone and the world will be filled with cloned humans. If cloning were your only possible chance of having a child, would you use this type of method and accept this treatment? Try to think about the advantages and disadvantages of human cloning, you will find the answer with your own reason. Perhaps in the future, all the disadvantages of the human cloning process can be corrected and the public can accept the role of human cloning. Works CitedArlene Judith Klotzko, 2004.
